World-leading LNG gas analysis

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is making the transition to green energy possible. It provides a steady supply of low-carbon power for homes and industry as we switch to more sustainable sources.
Most natural gas is made up of energy sources such as methane and ethane, but also contains small amounts of moisture, carbon dioxide, and sulfur compounds. These impurities must be removed through a gas treatment process before liquefaction.
Gas analysis, provided by the flexible SERVOTOUGH SpectraExact 2500, helps to ensure that both the gas treatment and liquefaction processes are controlled and deliver a high-quality LNG product.
Once in its liquid state, LNG can be transported by sea to its destination terminal. However, while LNG does not burn or explode in its liquid form, LNG vapors are flammable in concentrations of 5-15% in air.
This means gas analysis plays a vital role in the safety, and monitoring marine vapor recovery processes. Servomex’s solution uses either the SERVOTOUGH Oxy 1900 or SERVOTOUGH OxyExact 2200 Paramagnetic oxygen analyzers, depending on application conditions.
The regulations for this application insist on redundancy within each system, so at least two analyzers are specified.
The Oxy 1900 and OxyExact 2200 can also be used for essential safety measurements in inert monitoring at the LNG storage tanks before and after transportation.
