Two ways to learn about our expert solutions for the VCM process

Vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) is an important intermediate product in hydrocarbon processing applications, and is used in the manufacture of polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

The production of VCM calls for accurate gas analysis measurements throughout the process, in order to ensure safety and efficiency, and to control the process.

Our applications video and podcast both showcase our expert solutions for the process, including measurements in hazardous conditions or corrosive gas streams.

These solutions are led by the new SERVOTOUGH SpectraExact 2500, a highly flexible, high-performance photometric analyzer that provides real-time online monitoring at key points throughout the VCM production process.

Safety measurements of oxygen are also essential within the process. Depending on the process point and application conditions, this can be provided by the SERVOTOUGH OxyExact 2200 or SERVOTOUGH Oxy 1900 hazardous area Paramagnetic oxygen analyzers, or by the SERVOTOUGH Laser 3 Plus Tunable Diode Laser analyzer.

The Laser 3 Plus, or the SERVOTOUGH FluegasExact 2700, can also be used to monitor combustion in the pyrolysis stage of the process, to ensure maximum efficiency.

The VCM video is available to watch on our website now, and listen to Application Development Engineer Maria-Katharina Mokosch talk about the process and challenges facing customers in our podcast.
