Servomex named first private sector business to achieve local authority wellbeing at work accreditation

Crowborough, UK, July 2022 – Global expert in gas analysis, Servomex, has been named as the first private sector business to achieve an award aimed at improving workplace wellbeing, as part of a new scheme by the local authority.

The Wellbeing at Work accreditation (Bronze award) was presented to Servomex in June by the public health department of East Sussex County Council, within the UK.

Focusing on the company’s willingness to promote and encourage positive behaviors by providing thorough and easily accessible wellbeing and mental health information, the scheme seeks to make the East Sussex workforce happier and healthier.

There are seven areas covered within this accolade which also assessed Servomex’s ability to provide support services across a range of health-related areas. The criteria included physical activity and active travel, healthy eating, mental health, alcohol, smoking and substance misuse, sickness-related absence, returning to work and prevention, leadership, management and workplace culture and musculoskeletal health and health and safety.

Julie Burridge, Health and Wellbeing Manager, said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive the Wellbeing at Work accreditation from East Sussex County Council.

“We have always prided ourselves on being there for our colleagues at all times when they need support and this award is evidence of that. We have created a culture where employees can speak openly about how they feel and our mental health aiders assist with this by providing great support and a listening ear. We can then direct colleagues to relevant support services, ensuring the wellbeing of everyone at all levels.

“Now we’re focusing on actions to get to the next level in the scheme but, more importantly, doing even more for our employees, creating a happier and healthier workforce not only here in Sussex but across all our global operations.”

The news comes as the company marks its 70^th anniversary this month (JULY) when staff across the globe celebrate Servomex Day. Various sites across the world will host an afternoon for local employees who will enjoy cake and beverages.
