Are you an looking for your next challenge? We have a rare and excellent opportunity for an exceptional individual to develop our SAP system and business process knowledge, based at our UK Technical Centre in Crowborough, East Sussex.


Job description:

This opportunity sits within our Business Transformation and Business Systems team and the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our Business Systems (primarily SAP) fully meet the needs of the global business (in their area of expertise).

They Specialist will be collaborating with the business to understand their needs and develop effective SAP solutions in line with the IT guiding principles. Working with other members of the IS team and external partners to resolve issues and implement improvements.

About the role:

  • Be the functional expert supporting and developing our SAP system and business processes
  • Identify and implement improvements/solutions to SAP to meet business needs (in functional area of expertise, ideally MM (Materials Management) / PP (Production Planning) and/or FI/CO (Finance/Cost controlling)
  • Provide technical support of SAP, AEB & Winshuttle – including:
     • Managing updates, patches, upgrades etc.
     • Small ABAP developments e.g. ALV reports, user exits, function modules, BADIs, BAPIs, IDocs
     • Monitoring, maintenance and development of roles, authorisations, controls & security
     • Change & develop Smartforms/SAP Script
     • SAP configuration
     • Enhancements of existing SAP components
     • Development of new SAP components
  • Participate in future SAP upgrade / replacement project (potentially S4 HANA)
  • Ensure changes to relevant business systems are thoroughly tested and documentation is kept up to date
  • Manage projects, large & small, with internal and/or external resources
  • Liaise with external partners for additional development, providing technical specifications

 

About you:
Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Domain Knowledge of SAP ECC
  • Proven experience working with users to identify needs and solutions
  • Strong SAP knowledge – ideally multiple project life cycles
  • Knowledge of SAP development tools and approaches
  • Capability and knowledge in SAP configuration
  • SAP certified consultant in at least one of SAP functional modules (ideally PP, MM, FI or CO) or SAP certified consultant in ABAP development
  • Good problem solver with the ability to communicate and consult at all levels
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language

Desirable Skills, Experience and Education:

  • Domain Knowledge of S4/HANA
  • Experience of implementation projects
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a 2nd and 3rd level support role on SAP applications
  • Knowledge of AEB Export Control, Winshuttle & SAP BW (not necessary but advantageous)
  • A related subject area degree (or equivalent) may also be advantageous
