Job description:
The system verification tester’s role is to work within NPD (new product development) and sustainment activities to manage the planning, setup, testing and reporting of the Verification activities. In addition, this role will provide technical support & expertise in areas of competence

Key Responsibilities will be:
Planning, execution and reporting system verification activities for key NPI (New Product Introduction) and Sustainability projects.
Study and understand specification/requirements and interpret acceptance criteria and derive suitable tests accordingly.
Design and develop test setups including maintainability, reliability and conforming to relevant safety standards.
Be an active member of NPI teams to contribute to overall project success, reporting on test progress and escalation of issues.
Become proficient in, and further enhance the use of the business issues management system (Test Track) for all testing data management.
Lead testing activities to support engineering/R&D investigations, from root cause identification, through to the supporting design engineers in the implementation of sound engineering solutions.
Prepare equipment specifications and orders to maintain the in-house test equipment and control its use (equipment log / diary)
Assist in generating testing policies, procedures and standards.
Contribute and advise on upstream verification tools & methodologies to minimise defects escaping to downstream development & test stages.
Work to company’s policies, procedures and standards.

Candidate Specification:
Proven experience of testing or working with electronic, electronical, mechanical or software products.
Track record of following test protocols/test cases for new products, derived from product requirements.
Demonstrated experience of working in a team.
Experience in reporting and presenting test data/results to peers and immediate management.
Proficient user of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Fluent in English (written and verbal).
A level (or equivalent, e.g. NQF level 3) in an engineering/technical/mathematics discipline.
