The Head of Production will develop strategic direction for the UKTC in line with global strategy.

They will lead, direct and manage all aspects of the UKTC manufacturing, distribution and supply chain activities in order to effectively and efficiently meet customer demand, utilizing an empowered workforce, engaging Lean and Six Sigma principles with a continuous improvement mind-set in support of the overall Servomex group strategy.

A key leadership role with full accountability and responsibility for site P&L.

Direct reports to this role include Manufacturing, Logistics and Facility Maintenance

Member of the extended global leadership team

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • To deliver the vision and direction for the UKTC manufacturing site with regular objectives, development plans, instilling a culture of cost reduction, lean and continuous improvement.
  • To foster ethical conduct, culture, and practices by exhibiting high personal integrity in all decisions and company activities
  • To lead the Servomex Business System and sustain the implementation through continuous improvement initiatives which will enhance throughput and deliver the product quality and service levels required to meet customer needs.
  • Aligning with our engineering strategy to manage all areas of production through proper allocation of scheduling, materials planning, purchasing, and resources
  • Responsible for forecasting sales revenue and deliver against targets/budgets
  • Oversee all aspects of Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
  • To develop, implement and manage an effective, reliable and quality materials management process within the supply chain function including inventory management and distribution
  • Oversee negotiations with vendors for the purchase of all materials, supplies, equipment and services used by the company, with the intent of improving our position with cost and lead times
  • Maintain consistent communications with the business centre through regularly scheduled operations staff meetings
  • Ensure the Servomex site and operations comply with the required Health, Safety and Environmental regulations and standards; support initiatives to develop HSE best practices
  • Oversee and manage the performance of all direct line reports including conducting performance reviews
  • Coach and develop staff by thorough training plans where appropriate and develop progression paths to maximize skill levels
  • Manage all other day-to-day aspects of the team
  • Maintain KPI’s which help to outline current and future development of all operations to agree targets

Candidate Specification:

 Essential Skills and experience:

  • A proven track record of working in a similar Production Management position with full P&L responsibility
  • Ideally with experience managing the production of sensing technology and/or analysers
  • Experience in a strong customer service environment
  • A positive management style with the ability to motivate and gain commitment from the team through leading by example
  • Technical, conceptual, and financial skills with an in-depth understanding of manufacturing and materials management
  • Demonstrated experience of implementing and managing change in a business using lean manufacturing and continuous improvement approaches
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge & experience of scheduling
  • Proficient in SAP

 Desirable Qualifications:

  •  BS/BA degree in project management, engineering, or sciences
  • Formal continuous improvement training and certification, Six Sigma Green Belt required, Black Belt preferred.
  • Experience with ISO9001 certification and administration of a successful program
  • Experience in High Mix/ Custom Manufacturing
  • Experience in engineering of gas systems
  • Lean Six Sigma Green / Black belt qualification/ Practitioner
