Job description:
The Head of Global Supply Chain will play an integral role in the strategic development of the Servomex supply chain, setting out a clear vision for improving agility across all production facilities and delivering improved service to customers through optimisation.
In collaboration with the Global Operations Director, they will lead, direct and manage all aspects of the global supply chain function in order to effectively and efficiently deliver world class service to internal and external customers. To make this happen they will engage and utilise our empowered global workforce whilst applying Lean and Six Sigma principles.
It will also be necessary to drive a cross OpCo participation program to leverage Servomex spend under the Spectris umbrella.

Key Responsibilities will be:

To deliver the vision and drive the direction of the Global Supply Chain Function.
To standardise all processes, where possible, across all sites worldwide, ensuring a collaborative approach is applied for utilising our skills and business platform
To encourage the development of an empowered workforce and drive a culture that embraces the concepts of Lean and continuous improvement
To foster ethical conduct, culture, and practices by exhibiting high personal integrity in all decisions and company activities
To forecast departmental revenue and deliver against targets/budgets
Implement and maintain key measures (KPI’s) to monitor service levels and trends for all suppliers. Ensure proper root cause analysis and resolution for identified issues engaging with our quality team for rectification as necessary
To manage all aspects of the global inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained to meet the demand from our production facilities and customers alike, whilst not submitting the Company to financial commitments outside of the range permitted
Drive the worldwide Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, allowing the L1 team to make key decisions during the reconciliation meeting
Have a deep analysis of all product lines and anticipated usage against forecasted demand. Manage exceptions through collaboration with other Departments
Negotiate all contracts with our customers, ensuring quality, service and price are driven to world class levels for the top 20. Consolidation of suppliers should be managed
Conduct regular (at least annually) risk assessments for all suppliers
Maintain knowledge in the latest techniques used in procurement and supply chain management
Oversee and manage the performance of all direct line reports including conducting performance reviews
Coach and develop staff by thorough training plans where appropriate and develop progression paths to maximize skill levels
Manage all other day-to-day aspects of the team

Candidate Specification:

Essential skills and experience:
Demonstrable track record of operating as a Supply Chain Manager in a technical manufacturing environment.
Excellent technical, conceptual, and financial skill with an in-depth understanding of manufacturing and materials management
A positive management style with the ability to motivate and gain commitment from the team through leading by example
Possess excellent personal organisation and business administration skills
Strong analytical, negotiation and leadership skills
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present to executive decision makers
Demonstrated experience of implementing and managing change in a business using lean manufacturing and continuous improvement approaches
Be personally energetic, dynamic, positive, and enthusiastic and possess the ability to think laterally and act through reasoned decision making.
Possess the ability to work productively, efficiently and effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail and quality.

Desirable skills and experience:
Wide experience of supply chain management
Experience and knowledge of Lean manufacturing techniques. Implementing Lean projects
Solid problem-solving skills
Strong negotiation skills
The ability to influence people and manage critical situations
Strong customer focus at all times
SAP expert

Essential qualifications:
BSc/BA degree in business, supply chain or equivalent.
People management – ILM (as an example)
