Corporate responsibility

Servomex considers sustainable development to be one of the most important challenges for the future. We deliver solutions on a daily basis that help our customers reduce global resource consumption and the emissions of atmospheric pollution through the use of our products. We know our customers also demand environmentally compatible products and services and we are committed to fulfilling that demand through meeting regulations such as ISO 140001, the EU Directives on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and Restriction of the use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS).

The WEEE Directive aims to minimise the environmental impact associated with the disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment through promoting the recycling, recovery and re-use of included materials and components. The Directive also allows for national variations in the implementing legislation between EU states. Servomex products that fall within the scope of the WEEE Directive are already compliant, with the necessary recycling processes in place.

The RoHS Directive aims to protect human health and the environment by restricting the use of certain hazardous substances in new equipment, such as lead-based solder. As all of Servomex’s products fall within categories 8 and 9 of this legislation they are currently exempt from the RoHS Directive. However, Servomex is already migrating to RoHS compliance in line with customer requests.
