Reporting to the Materials Manager within the supply chain, you will be required to:-
- provide an effective procurement resource for a group of parts or assemblies
- participate in supplier evaluation, monitoring and review processes
- manage existing sources of supply and identify alternative types/sources of supply through continuous improvement activities
- plan, negotiate, develop, implement and manage all aspects of procurement agreements and contracts
- develop long term supplier relationships
- develop the purchasing environment
You will have:-
- proven experience in materials management/procurement
- a general knowledge of commodity sources within the medium/light engineering sector
- a good understanding of company products, procedures and processes, or similar
- knowledge in the use of procurement agreements and contracts
- initiative, tenacity, resilience
- good judgement
You will be:-
- computer literate in MS Office, Lotus Notes and SAP
- commercially aware, forward thinking, self-motivated, persuasive, organised
